John Kuyf Managing Director/Owner REL John formed Rakaia Engineering Ltd (REL) with wife Janette in 1987. Over the past 20 plus years the business has expanded to a team of fifty, with many subcontractors and seasonal staff now reliant on REL. Working closely with the dairy industry, John has developed new styles for dairy shed structures and platforms. He takes great pride in knowing that REL has made innovations in manufacturing and that the business is well respected in the agricultural industry, both in New Zealand and in Australia. John has a strong background in working with and following through on large scale projects. |

Janette Kuyf Administration/Owner REL Janette has worked with John to build Rakaia Engineering Ltd (REL) into a progressive and successful business. Today she works in a support capacity at REL within the administration team. Janette has seen the business change from a seasonal enterprise into a 12 month of the year business. She takes pleasure in the fact that REL now employs a large number of staff full-time and offers an expanded range of services and products to meet demand from the agricultural industry. |

Eric Livingstone B Com AFNZIM, Member Institute Directors Chairman REL Board Eric has wide experience in governance and as a management consultant. He previously mentored businesses for the Canterbury Development Corporation and Business Mentors New Zealand. He was a member of the New Zealand Institute of Management Divisional Council for nine years and has worked with business owners under various Trade and Industry Department programmes. Eric recently became chairman of the REL Board, is also chairman of Carlton Taylor Industries Ltd, Ionic Watercare Ltd and of the Advisory Board of VIP Security. |

Gerry Clemens Director REL Board Gerry has more than thirty years experience in manufacturing and international marketing in over 18 countries. His particular area of focus is businesses associated with innovation, new product development and strategic intent. Today a professional director, Gerry’s directorships include companies associated with the manufacturing, precision engineering, infrastructure, roading and construction sectors. He is a member of the Institute of Directors and Royal Society of New Zealand. |
