National Services Supervisor

REL offers one of New Zealand’s most comprehensive ranges of agricultural products and services. REL is experiencing strong growth in the Dairy and Bulk Material storage sectors and has the need to strengthen its existing 50- strong staff with the following key position.

The National Services Supervisor will be an experienced and qualified tradesperson and leader, with a background in agricultural field servicing. Requirements are for prompt and professional response with after-sales support, including planned and reactive maintenance, servicing, pre-delivery checks and commissioning.

The Supervisor is required to be hands on as well as manage a small team at REL. The Supervisor is also required to manage and support a network of subcontractors nationally who are in place installing and/or servicing REL products nationwide.

A sound knowledge of Microsoft operating systems, including Word, Excel and Outlook is essential. In addition, experience with job management, purchasing, etc would be a distinct advantage.

A strong work ethic, client focus, first class communication, and a willingness to deliver on commitments made, not constrained by time are essential attributes. The Supervisor will form part of the Production Manager’s Leadership Team contributing to the planning, management, supervision, quality and delivery of REL work.

Key tasks Objectives
Planned Maintenance
  • To manage planned maintenance programmes and promotions during seasonal shutdown periods. Undertake work promptly and profitably.
Reactive Maintenance
  • Manage the Team to ensure 24/7 call-out availability and respond in a prompt and efficient manner to satisfy after sales service and breakdown needs.
Warranty Claims
  • Service all warranty claims with internal and external suppliers ensuring follow through with company liability claims.
Plant Maintenance
  • Assist with and manage pre-delivery checks, scheduled maintenance and commissioning for Keenan products and other similar plant and equipment sold under the REL Group.
Manage Sub-Contractors & Suppliers
  • Ensure service agents and suppliers nationally are managed and supported so that they enhance and build on REL reputation. Maintain excellent relationships with suppliers and subcontractors.
Stock Control
  • Work with the Distribution & Warehouse Manager to ensure appropriate levels of parts and materials are on hand for efficient repairs and maintenance.
Client Service
  • Strive to provide excellent quality service to all Clients to enhance company’s reputation. Provide prompt responses including provision of quotations.
Job Management
  • Ensure jobs set up appropriately with accurate filing and database management, costings, invoicing controls and close outs.
Financial
  • Assist with the control of costs associated with service projects, warranties, call-outs and internal costs to achieve profitability goals for the Company.
Research & Development
  • Contribute to development and promotion of new product and services in conjunction with the Sales and Production staff.
Personal Development
  • Take responsibility for managing own professional development.
Health & Safety
  • Adhere to and promote the company’s Health & Safety policy and procedures.
Quality
  • Ensure top quality of project jobs on a continuous improvement basis and develop systems as appropriate.
Team Culture and Leadership
  • To adhere to the company’s values and build a strong team culture leading by example. Contribute positively and broadly to the Production Leadership Team.
